I am happy to report: not only are David Kirsch products amazing, but his Five Day Detox actually works. I'm not going to lie, I was pretty starving during the 5 day cleanse, but if you want results--- it will give you results. Not only did I lose lbs (with sort of minimal exercise), but my skin looks so much healthier.

Now, I want to offer up a plan that I think is more sustainable long term. I've done this before, and it really works for my lifestyle. (I eat out a lot, & am often on the go!)

I was given this "Clean Living" menu by a friend, MCV, who swears by it.
Let's make the next week a super healthy one by following this super easy to follow regimen.
AM: start the morning with a cup of hot water (like you would make for tea) with fresh lemon. Follow by egg whites sprinkled with flax seed OR, if you don't like egg whites go for Greek Yogurt, sprinkled with ground flax seed. (Note from MRS: I like to mix whey protein into my greek yogurt, and add flax on top of that) Take your vitamins & drink two glasses of water before you walk out the door.
Mid morning: one glass of water with apple cider vinegar. (I have to add lots of ice and a sprinkle of Stevia to this beverage for taste-- it is pretty tart!) Have 2 glasses of regular water during the morning before lunch. Staying hydrated is so important!

Lunch: a salad (with no dairy) and lots of protein. (Tofu, Grilled Salmon/Chicken) All-organic if possible! Or, if you're not in the mood for a salad, go for a larger (4 ounce) portion of any protein, with a side of veggies. Don't sell yourself short, eat until you are full-- but fill up on veggies and protein.

Dinner: Any protein cooked any way (just not fried!!) So the options are endless and you can eat out-- just be smart. Get the buttery sauce on the side, and opt for veggies instead of mashed potatoes. Have 3 full glasses of water before dinner. Here's some inspiration from MRS's kitchen.
This dish is SO easy. I make it all the time. Buy a pre-mixed veggie "stir-fry" pack, wash and throw in skillet. I use little frozen organic shrimp & whatever Asian sauce I have on hand & cook until the shrimp are nice and pink. This is great for weeknights.
These are Ancho-Chile Glazed Kabobs-- which I made for a dinner party last summer. Pick up some ancho-chile seasoning at Central or Whole Foods, mix with a little olive oil, salt and pepper and paint over shrimp and andouille sausage. Toss on the grill. So easy, so delish!!
I made these grilled peaches for dessert-- yum!!

Get this pre-packaged, pre-washed & pre-sliced veggie situation at Central Market. I also like to buy their pre-packaged chicken, which comes with rosemary & garlic butter. All you have to do is pop it in the oven & cook those veggies & you have a nice little meal. I served it over spinach pasta here, but it was so filling that it would be perfect carb-free.
I love this "Total Health" dining regimen because it is so ridiculously easy to follow. It's low-carb, no dairy, but you never get hungry!!
Note from MRS: If you get hungry in between meals & are on the go or at work, stop by Starbucks and grab anything made by RAW (nuts & grains, gluten free) which is sold there too. You can also nibble on fruit!
I've said adios to Diet Cokes, but one thing I really can't cut out of my diet--- Starbuck's Iced Coffee!! Here it is, Trenta sized!!
