House Beautiful
I think that I am drawn to this space above because I used a similar palette in my last living room. I love how the dark wood anchors the space.
This room is so wonderful because it looks lived in, and I love spaces that are made for real living. The wallpaper and the leather on the chair make it feel cohesive.
Wood paneling can be a disaster when it is not well dressed, and the room can walk away looking so dismal and dark. That is precisely why I love this living area-- it feels like and airy without loosing its earthy, organic vibe. The framed shells & chandelier take it home.
Jean-Louis Deniot, Bridgehampton
This arrangement would not occur to me, and I cannot say that I would ever purchase that lamp (it looks wobbly, which makes me a tad nervous) but that is neither here nor there. Jean-Louis clearly understands proportion & depth, and this is what effective arrangements are all about.
I can be a little 'matchy', so it is no surprise that I love this room. It can be so bold to really commit to a color/pattern and run with it.

The Cotton House
I purchased a large shell on ebay for a guest bathroom with a similar vision... Stay tuned for photos when it is installed!
